Firebase

Use Google authentication inside VauCode to discover Firebase projects available to your account and select the project that should be linked to the VauCode development environment.

Inside VauCode

This page documents the integration currently present in the VauCode Android/Flutter source, not a generic roadmap description.

Continue with Google

The current integration uses Google Sign-In instead of asking users to paste Firebase credentials manually.

Cloud-platform scope

VauCode requests email and Google Cloud platform access needed to discover Firebase projects.

Project discovery

The app calls the Firebase Management API and loads accessible Firebase projects for the signed-in account.

Project selection

A Firebase project can be selected and persisted as the project linked to VauCode on that device.

Refresh projects

Connected users can refresh the list when project access changes.

Clean disconnect

Disconnect signs out the Google account and clears the selected Firebase project stored by VauCode.

Connection flow

How it works in the app

  1. 1

Open Integrations → Firebase and confirm the connection.

  2. 2

Choose Continue with Google and sign in with an account that owns or can access Firebase projects.

  3. 3

VauCode loads the Firebase projects available to that account.

  4. 4

Select the project VauCode should associate with the current development environment.

  5. 5

Refresh or disconnect later directly from the Firebase integration screen.

Implementation notes

What the source currently does

The Flutter source uses google_sign_in with email and cloud-platform scopes.
Project discovery calls https://firebase.googleapis.com/v1beta1/projects with the Google access token.
The selected project ID and display name are stored locally in SharedPreferences.
Disconnect removes both the Google session and the locally selected project values.
